The link partner game…does it work?

The link partner game…does it work?

by PrimeVector

To get traffic to your site its often important to find link partners. If you are new to this game you might think that any link pointing to your sites are great and you want to try to get as many pointing to your sites as possible. In real life mostly this is not a fact. You can have thousands of links pointing to your site, but none of them will help you get traffic and none of them will help raise your search engine rankings!

Its mostly people that try to automate this process and just send out an email to thousands of people at once that end up with a buch of links pointing to them that are kinds useless. Then they need add all the links of the sites pointing to them to their site and thus they als end up with a load of not related to their content links that are not good to anybody. So trying to get link partners like this is a waste of time.

A much better way is to invest a bit more time. Link partners are a great, thats a sure thing, but you will have to make sure that you link to sites that are visited really well and that are at least a bit related to your site and interesting for your visitors. You dont have to automate this process at all, you need to manually do some research to get the best results. Find sites you really like and fit your topic, then your visitors are bound to like the link too and click it.

This whole process can take a lot of time, but sometimes you find true little gems and get links pointing to your site that send you more then 200 visitors a day! Can you imagine having 10 of those link or even more? That would mean 10 x 200 = 2000 visits in a day!!! Just by having 10 good link partners. Finding out what those great link partners are is a matter of a bit of luck and trial and error.

Try to find out the email address of the webmaster to the site you are trying to get a link from, then write them a nice letter asking them to become a link partner with your site. If they are interested add them to your site and send them your link details. Then watch your site statistics to see if its working out for you. You can give it a few weeks, but if a link is not working out and not sending traffic…get rid of it!

This game is especially hard in the beginning when you don’t have the traffic statistics yet to show other webmaster. Try to explain your situation to them and be nice. Let them know what your idea’s are and what kind of things you are planning to do to promote your sites! This might trigger their interest anyway and they give you what you want … that link pointing to your site. Good luck in the stuggle and lets hope you’ll get into the major traffic sites too soon!
